Brian Macdonald

In 2023, he joined Foodbuy Canada’s leadership team, leveraging his expertise to enhance operational efficiencies and create value for both operators and vendors.
Brian’s career began in 1996 with MacKenzie Sales/SERCA, which Sysco acquired in 2001. At Sysco, he held various roles, including Business Development Manager, District Sales Manager, General Manager of Sysco Moncton, and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Atlantic Canada. He eventually became Vice President of Sales Eastern Canada, overseeing Atlantic, Quebec, and Ontario regions until 2019, when he left with extensive distribution knowledge and strong industry relationships.
In 2020, Brian co-founded HaliHub, a local food delivery company providing independent restaurants with an alternative to national providers and reducing delivery fees. By January 2021, he launched Stake Hospitality Group (SHG), a Canadian Group Purchasing Organization. SHG offered national deals, local food alternatives, and industry insights to help restaurants navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and improve profitability.
Brian continues to look for every opportunity to connect buyers and sellers across Canada, for the benefit of the entire foodservice industry, including customers, vendors, and distribution partners.
